In the course of the meeting, Oleksandr Turchynov congratulated military men “that remained loyal to their oath and the people of Ukraine till the end.” He thanked them for their courage and heroism.
According to him, the Army has suffered heavy losses in Crimea.
However, despite this, our military men have fulfilled all the tasks. “You gave
the possibility for the army to get ready for protection of the country,” stressed
Oleksandr Turchynov. Chairman of the Parliament informed that the Government today maintains decent conditions for accomodating families of military men.
Oleksandr Turchynov stressed that officers will be promoted and awarded for their courage and endurance.
Deputy Commander of the Navy of Ukraine Major General Ihor Voronchenko,
Colonel Yulii Mamchur, Marines Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Dmytro
Deliatytskyi and his deputy, Major Rostyslav Lomtiev that were illegally
captured during the latter attacks and provocations against the Ukrainian
military men, were present at the meeting. The Acting President of Ukraine also held consultations with management personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and discussed the issue of redeployment of troops from the territory of Crimea and evacuation of the families of military men.
